Patrick Salem

Patrick graduated from Queen Mary, University of London in 2015 with a degree in Mathematics.

Patrick joined Powell Spencer & Partners’ accounts team in May 2018 where his role involved legal costs work, preparing detailed bills for court and assisting the team with their routine admin duties such as maintaining accounts, credit control, invoicing and archiving.

Since joining the team, Patrick has developed a broad understanding of legal costs across multiple areas of law and now takes instruction from both internal and external solicitors, engaging in costing work for Legal Aid and private matters. Patrick has a strong foundation of legal aid costs, particularly in criminal and family matters which he has built up from drafting all types of claim forms, case plans and bills of costs.

Patrick underwent training in-house and successfully completed his ACLT course in April 2024. He is now a qualified Costs Lawyer and a member of the Association of Costs Lawyers (ACL).
